Plain crash near Chetumal
While flying the aircraft in the Chetumal area, the pilot made three attempts to land at the Airport in Chetumal , however, the landing gears malfunctioned. The pilot then took the decision to land in the waters near his house, which he did. The pilot is unhurt.
Police and civil aviation officials are investigating the incident in which the plane crash landed in the Corozal District. About 3:45 pm yesterday afternoon Corozal Police visited the coast line one kilometer North East of Finca Solana Area in Corozal in front of the residence of Canadian national 71-year-old Morgan David Mahoney where they saw a grey and blue twin engine aircraft in the water.
