Tulum airport becoming reality

Tulum airport becoming reality
Plans for a new airport near Tulum have been published by ASUR (Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste, S.A. de C.V.). This new airport will cut approximately 2 hours traveling time to Mahahual (Majahual) and Xcalak.
The exact use of the airport is still under development.
The Tulum airport code will be TUY and the official airport name will be 'NAS Tulum'.
The runway length is now projected to be 1820 meter or 5973 ft.
The exact coordinates are:
Longitude : 87° 26’ 17” W
Latitude : 20° 13’ 40” N

For a Boeing 747 this is practically to short and only suitable for emergency landings.
A Boeing 737 or Airbus A320 could very well land here.
