Marina Mike's is a small, secluded hotel located on the north side of
Xcalak and is connected to the town power grid. Hotel Marina Mike's,
which completed construction of a new four room hotel in September 2000,
offers a charming, very well appointed palapa, a deluxe hotel room, and
three new hotel suites for rental. The suites include complete kitchen
facilities. There is airconditioning (AC) 24-7.
The fully equiped dive shop XTC is just a short walk up the street and
there are several restaurants and stores located nearby.
Purified ice and soft drinks are all for sale at Hotel Marina Mike's. Laundry
are available for guests. All private
rooms have internet access.
Xcalak - Mahahual (Majahual) beachroad, at the start of the road.
Maya is a full service hotel located along the old beach road less
than 3.5 kilometers north of Xcalak. The hotel was opened in December
of 1998 with the intention to provide all the amenities that make
a vacation a retreat in comfort and enjoyment. The Inn offers six
spacious, tastefully decorated oceanfront rooms each with it's own
balcony, overlooking the breathtaking expanse of the Mexican Caribbean.
All rooms are provided with 24 hour electricity, ceiling fans, purified
drinking water, refrigerators in three of six rooms as well as daily
maid service. Air-condition in certain rooms is an option, although
rarely needed, since mother nature almost always provides a moderate
ocean breeze to keep things cool and comfortable.
The Maya Grill, an attractive Breakfast-Restaurant/Bar-Grill completes
Tierra Maya as a full service tropical retreat. With some of the finest
fishing, diving, and snorkeling just off shore, comfortable hammocks,
easy reading books, delicious food and drink either in or near your
room, the only pressure exerted upon you while staying at Tierra Maya
will be to choose which activity to undertake when. To make your choices
easier they arrange for you Offshore fishing, fly-fishing, snorkeling,
bird watching and boat excursions to San Pedro, Belize with guides
directly from the dock. Scuba lessons, Certifications, diving on the
local barrier reef and to the famed Chinchorro Banks are arranged
for you with one of our Xcalak dive operators.
Xcalak - Mahahual (Majahual) beachroad, 3.5 km north.
are three villas. Each villa is 900 square feet and has a 23 foot
by 14 foot living room, dining area, kitchen with stove, refrigerator,
and dishes. There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in each villa with
hot water showers. One bedroom includes a double bed and the other
2 twin beds. Ceiling fans and regular fans are located in each room.
Maid service is provided daily. You may cook your own meals, eat in
the Palapa restaurant or eat in one of the fine restaurants in Xcalak.
Purified water is provided in each villa. Staple groceries, pop, and
beer are provided at low prices. Meals at Sandwood consist of delicious
local and American fare. Breakfast features fresh tropical fruits
and juices with homemade breads and tortillas in the Palapa. The dinner
menu offers fresh seafood, chicken with fish, pork with fish, conch
and lobster, our specialty. Lunch and snacks are available. All meals
are served in the Palapa. Our bar offers an assortment of local beers,
sodas, wines and spirits. Our 24 hour electricity is provided by solar
energy backed up by a generator. They are an eco tourist resort -
no hair dryers or high wattage appliances please.
Xcalak - Mahahual (Majahual) beachroad, 8 km north.
La Guacamaya was build in December of 1999. Villa La Guacamaya offers
2 beach front bedrooms, each with private bathrooms, including a shared
kitchen and dining room which seats 8 or more. Bedrooms have a double
bed, pullout single bed and hammock. There is a separate 2nd floor apartment
with a view of the beach and the lagoon which has a double bed, bathroom
with shower, and kitchen. All of the rooms have overhead ceiling fans,
hot water and purified water dispensers. We provide fresh linens, bath
towels and various sundries for your comfort. Both kitchens have a refrigerator,
gas stove, cooking utensils, pots & pans, and dishes. All windows and
sliding doors have screens so you can enjoy the pleasant tropical breeze.

Sonrisa is a small & friendly full service resort featuring romantic
privacy and casual comfort. Very casual - the beach is clothing-optional
and even the restaurant/bar only requires a towel or pareo beach wrap.

Carolina is a small hotel consisting of 4 rooms. These are brand new
buildings with units on both ground level and second floor (there are
great ocean views from second story). Three of the rooms have queen-size
beds, one room has a double bed and a single bed and can accommodate
three people. All the rooms have balconies facing the Caribbean, breakfast

Dive boats can pick you up right at the dock. They are a NAUI dive
facility (Bob is a NAUI Instructor Trainer) and does local reef diving
right from the hotel. They are the only Universal Referral Center in
Xcalak. All levels of diving instruction are available in Casa Carolina,
from "Discover Scuba" through Instructor Training.
